risotto
curry

thread them on skewers with veg, marinade briefly and then serve with rice or potato wedges, a nice dip and salad.

Was going to suggest chilli, cream & tomatoes with spaghetti but might be too close to your old fave that you're trying to avoid!

special prawn pasta

saute some onions and garlic with some spices (cumin, coriander, tumeric, chili powder, whatever you have in cupboard).

Then add prawns and very briefly saute them.

Add tinned tomatoes or passata.

Serve with rice or whatever. Or add potatoes and peas early in cooking.

we had a baked potato t'other night with:

chopped celery, pepper, spring onion, tomato, cucmber and king prawns tossed in yoghurt, bit of mayo, lemon juice and lts of garlic. Twas easy and lovely.

this is a madhur jaffery recipe for tandoori prawns

TheArmadillo · 25/10/2008 18:25

the best book I can recomend for curries is Madhur Jafferies Ultimate curry bible.

Some of the recipes are really complicated and only really worth it for dinner parties I think, but some are really easy and use up leftovers and are fine for kids.

Ds was practically weaned on the potato and pea curry in there (fab for waiting for payday meals as is tomatoes, peas and potatoes in a mildly spicy stew thingy - is wonderful).
