Halloween sweets from China: are they safe?

Have a box of halloween sweets made in China for "Candy Creations". Some contain milk products.
Is there anyway to find out if they are safe, given the contaminated milk problem in China? Or do I just dish them out

where did you get them from?
if they were bought in this country and there were no product recalls, then they ought to be ok. but if you are worried, then bin them.
i guess the question is, would you give then to your children (if you have children) and if not, then don't give them to other peoples children.
