Made it last night, was still cooling when I went to bed, was going to go back down to put it in the fridge but I fell asleep so only put it in the fridge this morning. Can I eat it tonight or is that a bit dodgy? (it was covered btw)

I probably would - especially this time of year as it gets quite cold at night. AMybe not if you leave the heating on at night.

NO WAY, unless your house is as cold as a real fridge.

I have the faint recollection that with fish and sea food the problem is not so much about bacteria but about dangerous toxins released.

iMum · 23/10/2008 16:52

so long as you heat it really really well then it should be fine.

Wheelybug · 23/10/2008 16:52

I don't think there'd be a problem if its just fillet of fish type fish (ie cod/haddock/salmon). I might be a bit wary if it had shell fish in it.

Thomcat · 23/10/2008 16:52

It satyed out overnight as it cooled and then went in fridge.

Yeah I'd eat that. Done this loads of times myself with food that was cooling.

mighoula · 23/10/2008 16:52

2 against 1 for...
our flat isn't particularly cold but the heating wasn't on
won't give it to DD don't want to poison her, but might risk it for me

I'd probably eat it, but nuke it in microwave first. My kitchen is like a fridge anyway.

Wheelybug · 23/10/2008 16:54

Mig - eat it and report back in the morning and then we'll know

mighoula · 23/10/2008 16:54

cross post..
oh god now I'm even more confused! just has haddock & salmon in it, no shellfish
thing is even if I eat I know I won't really enjoy it now bec I'll be wondering if it's ok!
