Foolproof chilli recipe for ten

OK, so for some reason I agreed to have a Halloween party. I don't want to do finger food, and would like to do a big pot of chilli. I don't actually like chilli so I've never made it.

Does anyone have a foolproof recipe??

make a bolognese just like you would for spag bol, but add 1 tspn cumin when frying the onions and garlic (that's what gives the classic chilli flavour, otherwise you just have hot chillie bolognese with kidney beans). Also add 1tspn paprika and a tin or two of kidney beans. Add fresh chopped chillies or chillie powder or dried chillie flakes to taste, depending on how hot you waant it. For DS who's 5, I don't add any chillie, just the cumin and paprika.

Serve with rice, garlic bread and/or nackos/tacos etc. Sour cream on top once sered is nice too.

I do the same as overmydeadbody, but with a sprinkle of mixed spice too.
Tis really very easy and delicious.
