What can I make for my dds and 2 of their friends for tea tonight? I'll have approx half an hour to whip up something that appeals to all and is nominally healthy. Thank you.

I do a big chicken and veg soup with mini pasta and fresh baked rolls often for dd and her friends which seems to go down well.

Eniddo · 21/10/2008 10:04

I would make pasta and tomato sauce (homemade), takes 20 mins

Eniddo · 21/10/2008 10:05

I would normally but I did that last week

Macaroni cheese?

emkana · 21/10/2008 10:06

okay then make your own wraps

fry some chicken and peppers
put on table with tortillas, grated cheese, lettuce, cut up tomatoes, sour cream

Mercy · 21/10/2008 10:06

Macaroni cheese

Pesto pasta

serve with a little bowl of cherry toms, olives etc

ComeOVeneer · 21/10/2008 10:06

You can do that is half an hour (ok not the bread rolls but could you buy some of those part baked ones at some point today?)

orangina · 21/10/2008 10:06

Roast chicken drumsticks and roast potatoes? Cut potatoes like big chips, usually goes down well in the orangina household... Plus fresh veg... baby corn, mange tout. Can add some paprika to chicken and pots for a bit of zing.

Pasta bake w courgettes, cheese sauce (buy ready made) and ham/bacon? fruit salad and ice cream for pudding?

Iloveautumn · 21/10/2008 10:07

Jacket pots with beans/cheese?

(10 mins in micro, then remainder of time in oven)

Pasta with tinned toms and tuna? (or quorn meatballs - just put from freezer into saucepan with tinned toms to heat)

Fish fingers and veg/beans?

I am queen of meals that take less than 30 mins....

orangina · 21/10/2008 10:07

(ah, see pasta out of the equation...)

ComeOVeneer · 21/10/2008 10:07

OK how about fritatta and salad?

homemade pizza (bought bases and topping) and let them make their own

orangina · 21/10/2008 10:08

My kids love garlic, can add to chicken if they like it....

ComeOVeneer · 21/10/2008 10:09

Are you talking about having 30 mins to do something when they get in or do you have 30 mins now to prepare something that can be cooked/reheated later this afternoon?

Eniddo · 21/10/2008 10:09
