Help - just made my chutney

I'm a first timer with this and I should have perhaps carried out more research prior to starting in the early hours...but hey ho.

I have sterilised my jars in the oven and I was wondering if I just fill them and close the lids. Or, do i need to do something to get the air out? One of my jars is a Le Parfait jar and the others are just old jam jars.

TIA

i think le parfait are fine on their own but jam jars will need waxed circles or i just use greaseproof paper.

Thank you so much. I suddenly thought that I needed to boil the jars with the chutney inside in order to get the air out, but they obviously just keep fine as they are.

No, just putting hot chutney into hot sterilized jars and a waxed or greeseproof disk will be fine. As the jars and chutney cool, it sort of forms an air tight seal.
What kind of chutney did you make?
We are doing a Christmas chutney next week.
