Question about defrosting chicken

There's no reason why I can't make up a casserole to go in the slow cooker and put frozen chicken breasts in it then leave it all in the fridge overnight, ready to cook tomorrow, right? As long as I make sure the chicken is thoroughly defrosted before I cook it...

Personnaly I would leave the chicken seperate until the morning, so that the yukky juices don't go into the casserole. It'll be just as quick and at least you know there is no risk of food poisoning!

I would do a pokypoo suggested. Defrost the chicken on a covered plate seperately then add to pot in the morning.
