Slow cookers

I'm thinking of getting a slow cooker to make stews and casseroles this autumn/winter. Can anyone recommend a good one?

loads of threads about this - general answer is it doesn't matter, all seem decent and the cheaper ones do just as well as the pricey ones.

you just need to worry about capacity, which would depend on size of your family and if you want to make 2 or 3 meals extra to go in the freezer.

I got one last week - made my decision based on capacity - I got the larger one as we are a hungry family of five and I like to cook double quantities to freeze. Well worth having the large size imo. The other consideration was shape - I got the oval shape as it is better for cooking chickens, gammon joints etc. Well worth it and I've used it four or five times already.
