what on earth do I do with them? Found a packet in the cupboard and feel they should be good and healthy but have no idea what I should put them in.

Any ideas?

TIA

Apparently they sprout & become beansprouts

I have a bag & when I feel better I am going to sprout some of mine

Tommy · 17/10/2008 12:30

really Katy? I didn't know that!

They go out of date in December - when should I sprout them?

And, unitl then, should I cook some of them and in what?!

Do a search in the archives for mung.....I am sure you will find something

this is the shortest recipe request thread in the history of MN

No idea, btw.

onebatmotherofNormanBates · 17/10/2008 19:22

Oh, go on then

madlentileater · 17/10/2008 19:23

put them in soup, stew, curry...I'd soak them first probably to cut down cooking time. Ignore the sell by date!

  • thanks onebatetc - I think I might officially qualify as a lentil weaver with that lot.

I will start by bunging them in a couple of soups and see what happens. Thanks all
