I did this a while ago a lost the recipes people sent.

I have butter, flour, sugar, no oats. What proportions again?

Also. This time I am using frozen fruit (blackberries). Should I defrost them first or just chuck the mix on top then cook? If so how much do I adjust cooking time?

I had a glorious bath while DH was hard at work (well, training so probably not) so I want to make him a nice pudding. He will cook, as normal, I can't cook, but at least he will have a tidy house, a gorgious smelling wife, a happy toddler daughter and pudding.

IF i get it in the oven in the next 20 mins.

1 butter, 1 sugar, 2 flour

no idea about frozen berries, but I'd probably just throw them in and stop when it smelt cooked!

Oh, and I mean 1 and 2 by weight - eg 12oz flour to 6oz each butter and sugar

Marguerite Patten's recipe:

4oz flour
2oz butter (chilled)
2oz sugar.

Rub butter into flour and mix in sugar. Heat blackberries in oven for 10-15 mins before adding crumble mixture. Cook for 25-30 mins at 170 degrees, or until fruit is bubbling and crumble is golden.
Not sure about adjusting it for frozen fruit - I always use it straight from fridge. Maybe about 10-15 mins longer?

Hope that's helpful!

ok followed Extras - easier to work out as I have a tired mind. It looks fab, lovely soft crumbs, not lumpy like last time I did it (although tasted great). I defrosted fruit for 1 min just to soften, now ready for oven, which is heating.

BTW 170 degrees - GM6?
