Decorating a chocolate cake

I am about to cover a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and then I want to write on it. I want to use white chocolate and not icing. Do I need to melt the chocolate with anything to get the correct consistency to pipe it with? DD1's birthday cake so vv important! Thanks in advance.

Not very good at this baking lark myself but I would have thought that you would do something similar to what I did what my strawberries dipped in chocolate (thread earlier) .
I would melt chocolate in a glass bowl over a saucepan of boiling water.

Thanks Sparkler. Not sure whether I need to add some cream or butter to the white chocolate so that I can write with it though. Have wrapped cake in foil - perhaps the answer will come to me overnight.

no need to add cream for writing

Just melt it down - write with it through an icing bag and it will go hard itself surely?

yep!!

melt it in the microwave, much quicker
