Calling all vegans - would like some advice

After much thought and consideration the family is going to eat a vegan diet.
I would just like some advice in this transition and any tasty recipes and where to buy good vegan food from.

I don't understand the question about where to buy vegan food - you make it. Buy fruit, veg, pulses, grains from the usual places - market, healthfood store, supermarket or wherever and then cook. I'[m not in the UK but I'm sure most supermarkets sell soy/ rice milk and non-dairy cheese & yoghurt don't they?

Make sure you know how to provide a balanced diet, especially for the kids.

What kind of recipes do you like? How old are the DC? Is spicy ok?

I have a mexican lasagne and vegan banana cake in the oven atm.

I love the Parsley Soup site

Also, good cookbooks:

Vegan with a Vengeance

Vegan Cupcakes take Over the World

Veganomican (or something similar)

I think they are all by the same person, Isa Chandra Morowitz or something.

Uncheese cookbook, but it was a bot hardcore for me when I read it a while ago. Must try again.

Post Punk Kitchen webiste

Bump this thread tomorrow - I know other MN vegans (TooTicky especially) have good book recommendations.

Books:

Wholefood (not all vegan but enough great recipes to make it worth it)

Get it Ripe

How it all Vegan

So What Do You Eat? (Great for kids stuff)

Buy American cups as so many of the books are from the US.

Natures Plus Animal shaped vits and minerals are good if you choose to supplement.
