Has anyone heard of Vegetable Puree ?

I went shopping today and a recipe I am planning on using this this week requires 4 tablespoons of "vegetable puree". I'd never heard of it but thought it might be with the tomato/garlic etc. purees in the supermarket. It wasn't

Has anyone ever heard of it and if so, any ideas where I might find it ?

TIA

No idea, if you post the recipe I might be able to put it into context or suggest an alternative.

You can get it in a tube, but not as popular as the other pastes.

Last time I saw it was in Tescos.

Made by Gia but most shops only stock their tomato and garlic products IME.

Ah, I recognise the packaging but have never heard of that product before, sounds bit odd.

I find it handy sometimes for a bit of extra oomph in pasta dishes.

I am a pureeaholic. I think I have tried all of those Gia ones at one time or other. I probably have at least 3 in the fridge.

They are useful when I am making small portions and don't want to faff with crushing garlic, or making pesto, or sundrying a tomato

Pah you are a lightweight StG, I get up early to sun-dry tomatoes
I might try it, I have used the SDTom one before and found it good.

Brilliant ! I was looking in the right place for it, but Sainsburys obviously didn't have it.

Will have a look in Tesco

Thank you very much

TSM- which sainsburys?
The one at Marshall Lake has it I think, as does Maypole, maybe Selly Oak.

Tillyscoutsmum · 13/10/2008 22:09

I tried the Kidderminster one. I could get round to Maypole if I can't find it a bit more locally

Well- I'll double check they have it first then next time I'm in there.
