Or any other suggestions?

Thanks

i vote butter icing

bellavita · 13/10/2008 09:28

I would say ganache is quite rich, so I would not fill and ice, would probably just ice with it and use butter cream for the middle.

Even easier is creme fraiche with 70% cocoa plain chocolate melted into it. Spread on top and in middle then refrigerate for at least 1/2 hour. Not too rich, not too sweet and a bit more sophisticated for adults. You can even add a drop of amaretto for extra flavour.

Brangelina, that sounds divine!

May make myself a choc cake instead of ldc just to try it. Not too sure my MIL would appreciate the 'grown up-ness' of it though & the rest of them certainly wouldn't.

I tend to get laughed at atm for all my efforts in the kitchen! Don't think they understand tbh

They're only laughing cos they're jealous.

Still, they don't deserve a treat like that . . . much better reserved for moi!
