Can I freeze uncooked mince pies?

I am having 24 people over for xmas this year and planning on making 'Jamie olivers mince pie swirls'

My question is if I buy fresh ready made pastry and make the mince pies, can I then freeze them and cook them from de frosted. I would only make them a few weeks ahead so they won't be frozen for too long.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You can freeze them

But I don't know if they need to be defrosted first before cooking

Bump for yuo!

I would have thought they would need to be defrosted before cooking as if not they may not cook properly. Then again, they may just take longer to cook from frozen

Just thought as I posted that, have a look at the pastry packet if you're using bought stuff. Might tell you if you can cook it from frozen

Good idea never thought of that.

Yes, I usually do this. Cook straight from frozen, just brush with milk/sprinkle with sugar first.

I made mince pies, which I cooked from frozen. Can I now re-freeze the cooked ones which didn't get eaten?
