just curious - are deep-friend Mars Bars still available? And how much do they charge for 'em?

I am sure most little chippies would do one for you. I got a kingrib done in bread crumbs instead of batter the other night yumm!!!

louii · 09/10/2008 22:13

Well they wouldn't be officially on a menu, but just ask and they will deep fry anything for you, seriously.
I'm sure a chippy where you are would if you asked.

I lived in Aberdeen last year and the chippy up the road did indeed advertise deep fried mars bars, they also did Snickers if you fancied it. 65p. My DP wanted to try it, I had a bite and it was ok, a bit like those banana fritters from the Chinese restaurant but obviously with a mars bar.

Also the chippy in Stonehaven has it on its sign that they invented the deep fried mars bar, huge letters emblazoned on the side of the building

They also do something wierd with Irn Bru.

LetThemEatCake · 09/10/2008 22:27

but have you ever seen one trixy?

I used to work in a Japanese restaurant where they did tempura ice cream, was yum! Much lighter batter though.

The batter was a bit yuck, too thick.

trixymalixy · 09/10/2008 23:07

No I have never seen one.

Although my local chippy probably wouldn't allow them, the skinny woman who runs it is clearly trying to solve the scottish obesity problem through her tiny portion sizes.
