whisk an egg, like you're making scramble, then dip the bread in and fry it. Its good with a stodge dinner, like sausages, chips and beans!

sarahpea · 06/10/2008 17:01

why did i think you put jam on it???

mankymummy · 06/10/2008 17:02

tomatoes... obviously. sorry.

mabel1973 · 06/10/2008 17:03

even better...eggy marmite crumpets

Spread a crumpet with marmite, dip in beaten egg and fry in butter....delicious!

ivykaty44 · 06/10/2008 17:04

I always served eggy bread/french toast with sweet things, dusted with a little cinnamon and icing sugar, ice cream, jam, honey or a fruit compote.

My mate down the road serves her dc eggy bread with fish fingers, veggie sausages, tomato ketchup.

So I do the savoury aswell now

MOrticiaAdams · 06/10/2008 17:05

Oh Mabel! That sounds delish!

Bluebutterfly · 06/10/2008 17:08

It's lovely with mushrooms or bacon and maple syrup.

ClosedForCleaning · 06/10/2008 17:10

Lemon juice and sugar or honey. Pancake style. Yum!

boogeek · 06/10/2008 17:12

Eggy bread rules! but is a firm savoury in our house. Sometimes we sprinkle a little chilli powder and black pepper in the egg mixture to make it a bit more interesting.

sarahpea · 06/10/2008 17:20

I give it to DS as a snack, cut into soldiers, or as dinner/ lunch with baked beans.

I like it 'French toast' style with maple syrup and a knob of butter. Yum.

sarahpea · 06/10/2008 17:23

does it make your houses stink too??
