Sorry to be such a dunce but I've just made a cake for DH's birthday tomorrow....sugar, butter, eggs, blueberries, flour, creme fraiche....and it was in oven for 40 mins on gas mark 4...looked cooked but I've just come back to it after leaving it to cool before icing it with DS and it's collapsed a bit in the middle and looks decidedly gooey still in the middle....If i put it back in the oven for another 15 mins or so, till it's solid in the middle, will I be risking foodpoisoning us all? ie rewarming eggs? I suspect so but I can barely face starting over again .... OH BUGG**!!

could you cut out the middle and make a ring shaped cake from it and ice that? I'm not sure putting it back in now would help.
