Cooked meat - now what?!

Feel I'm being particularly pathetic here, but what else can I do with meat once it's cooked? eg the spare chicken breast, a few slices of roast whatever, etc. Must be something besides serving with mash again the next day.

Lots of things! These are our main ones:

anything - sandwich
chicken - salad, risotto, soup, pie, stir-fry
pork - stir-fry
lamb - shepherd's pie, curry
gammon or ham - pea or lentil soup or stew

Pork I would be careful about reheating, never had anything

AMumInScotland · 02/10/2008 20:24

Fajitas!

GordonTheGopher · 02/10/2008 20:26

Usually chuck a curry sauce over it.

MrsBadger · 02/10/2008 20:48

eat it

risotto is the staple chez badger

or sandwiches

or special fried rice (yum)

brill! Thanks for all, fajitas tonight!!

But ivy - why on earth not reheat pork as long as it's reheated to hot enough (as in the other meats)? don't understand.

I actually don't know why, but was always told not to reheat pork (I dont cook pork often as I dont like cold pork) I shall try and find out....

Pork is no worse than other meats (esp these days ) but do heat it through.

Cook soup and add bits of meat.
Noodles ditto with chinese sauce and veg.
Pasta with tomato/cheese/cream sauce ditto.
Slice potatoes and layer with onions and bits of meat ina dish, pour over white sauce/cream&milk and bake until soft. (potatoes dauphinoise-ish)
Fried rice with veg and meat.
Salad with hot pork/bacon/chicken and fried mushrooms.

A bit of meat can go a long way with other stuff.
