Please does anyone have a recipe for Christmas puds cooked in a slow cooker?

Also I would be v grateful for recommendations of slow cooker cook books.

Thanks

I've been wondering about doing my Xmas pud in the slow cooker too but am not sure I'm brave enough to try it ...

There are loads of nice slow cooker recipes on:
allrecipes.com/Recipes/Main-Dish/Slow-Cooker/Main.aspx

If you're googling, try 'crock pot' as well as 'slow cooker'.

Are you still wanting one as I am sure my fab cook book has one.

Don't you have a microwave?

I made this pudding last year, and it was so delicious, and I'll make it again this year. I added brandy...pudcast

I always cook my pudding in the slow cooker - it comes out perfectly. I use a normal pudding recipe & wrap the pudding bowl as you would for steaming normally, then it goes in slow cooker on low overnight. When it's cool I re-wrap & store until Christmas - then it needs about 4 hours in the slow cooker on the day - but no steam at all!!

mabanana - fab recipe and sooo easy, thank you

batgirl - just checking, do you fill the slow cooker with hot water then put the pudding in?

Might try this, as I can't stand steaming pans on xmas day. I parboil and freeze my roast potatoes too, makes for less dangerous cooking after a glass or two of fizz.

Yes - it needs to come up as high as is practical, obv you don't want to get water sloshing into your pud, but don't leave too much of a gap.

I used to parboil & freeze spuds - can't think why I have stopped - must get organised this year!
