DS could eat bread and butter till the cows come home. He asks for it for brekkie.

I can't bring myslef to allow it, but why? Tis the same as toast only not toasted surely?

Yum. Crunchy baguette and lovely butter. At least it's not the 47p tesco cheapo stuff and nasty marg.

Better with strawberry jam though (at least it's fruit!)

Would it help to think of it as the very early stage of toast? I whack marmite on ds's to soothe my need for vit and min intake - he just spreads it around and wanders off to do something more interesting.
Is jam a 5aday then, yippee! Bonne Maman please

Its just raw toast y'know. Its not exactly unhealthy, so why not let him.

Nothing wrong with that. I's just carbs at the end of the day, with a bit of fat, both vital for children.
