boring fridge question...

We are moving house next week & only have room for an under counter fridge/freezer.

Just wondered if it'll be ok to just get a fridge with an ice box compartment bit?
Can you keep stuff in the ice bit for a few months or so?
Or are you only allowed to keep things in there for a very short time?
I mainly only use the freezer for freezing leftovers & pasta sauce for ds so dont need a lot of space in it.

Can anyone help?
thanks

We used to have one of those when we lived in our flat. Used to only keep stuff in there for a short time as it never seemed as frozen as it would have in a proper freezer iyswim. Having said that, I'd wait for more reliable advice than that as I'm not that good at domestic type stuff, only just learning

thanks for the reply, thats what I thought!

Im sure you're only meant to store things in them for a few days, but I was hoping someone would say otherwise!

Looks like I'm gonna have to get a fridge freezer then, its annoying because I wont really have enough fridge space!

Different fridges have different ratings of icebox, so you need to have a look at the specifications. But none of them are comparable with a separate freezer in terms of how long you can keep stuff.
