Hi. I am about to make breakfast but DD has gone for her nap. She has already had cereal for breakfast but I would like her to try crambled egg so she could have it for lunch.

If I cook it now, can I reheat it for her lunch?

If not, would it be ok to give it to her cold?

Thanks!

Why dont you wait till she wakes up to make it? It only takes a few minutes.

DD is ten months and loves scrambled egg btw, it is one of my 'quick lunches'

chloemegjess · 29/09/2008 09:34

Well it is just that I am making it now for me and Dh and would prefer to make it once instead of twice so less washing up, effort etc. My sauspans are rubbish and awful to wash up so the less the better!

I wouldnt.

You can do it in the microwave, in a pot in doesnt stick. It would take as long to reheat it.

Dont be lazy

Lol. I am lazy. And I usually have DD wingeing.

How do you do it in the micro? I have plenty of pots but I usuallly stir it the whole time its on the hob but obviously couldn't do that in the micro?

Break egg in a cup.

Beat hell out of it with a fork.

Micro for 20 secs, beat again.

Repeat until cooked.

Will seem to do bugger all then suddenly go woosh and look like an exploded omelette. Beat like crazy and it turns into scrambled.

just give it to her cold... she won't know the difference.

Yes its completely safe to re-heat scrambled egg. If you want good advice on using eggs safely, the US food and drug administration has a useful guide on their website:

www.foodsafety.gov/~dms/fs-eggs.html

It will taste like rubber if you reheat it. Do it fresh for her. I do them in microwave too, dead easy.
