May I recommend people try it? Twas very nice indeed. The only downside was that I intended to have enough left for a couple of days worth of sandwiches and my greedy family all went back for humungous second helpings.

boiling stuff in fizzy drinks is nothing new, do you remember lots of people were recommending cooking veg in perrier during the 1980s (eau how poncey)

tassisssss · 25/09/2008 12:46

we like it too

it's a regular for when we have friends round

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/09/2008 12:47

Odd, but delicious, Ruty! I've always been dubious myself, as I've owned the cookbook for about 10 years and cooked loads of other stuff out of it but only just got around to trying this.

we rarely have any left for sandwiches as it is so yummy it all gets eaten!

flatmouse · 25/09/2008 12:53

LGP - how does one make meatballs from frozen mince? or do you defrost first?

Thanks

I'm not a vegetarian Fio but I think Coke sums up all that is evil about our capitalist society. However i may have to undermine my integrity out of curiosity...

ruty · 25/09/2008 13:14

i do have vegetarian friends coming around tonight though. Do you think i should try lentils in coke?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/09/2008 13:27

I defrost it in the microwave.

Could someone please post the recipe - is it in a slow cooker? What kind of ham?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/09/2008 13:44

'Ere you go my dear.
