Help quick please! Soaking pulses for soup/stew?

hi, i'm making an indian stew (haleem) and need to know if i can get away with soaking for an hour instead of overnight? anyone know? or can i jsut boil them instead first?

depends what pulses.

lentils don´t need soaking but everything else yes unless you want a sore tum.

anything about from kidney beans you just need to boil hard for 10 mins and leave to cool/soak in the boiling water for a couple of hours (or as long as you have). Change the water and then cook as normal. They may take a bit longer though
