Question for my mate about vegetarians and school dinners

So mate is having school dinners for her reception aged child.
they are all vegetarian.
Choices on Friday are pizza (veggie) and stew and rice (non veggie)
Won't all the kids want pizza?!! Can they decide just to have which one they like? If so does that mean they make enough of each meal for everyone which would leave masses of leftovers
TIA for my confused mate

In general, not sure what the answer is, or whether they 'profile' the provision to match estimated take-up, BUT in every school I have encountered Reception children go in first so are at the head of the queue. Soif it is a problem, it won't be yet!

oh I hope so, does that mean they get a bit of help with their tray etc?

Talk to the school - usually the cooks will be happy to put a veggie meal under the counter to reserve it for true veggies!

At DS' school Reception go in first, the dinner staff help them with choosing, let them taste new things, give any help needed, and the rest of the school aren't allowed in until Reception have all sat down.
