is baking paper different to greaseproof?

just that, was going to make jam roly poly but need baking paper, none left & didnt know whether they were the same as I have rolls of greaseproof. tia

Id be interested to know too because I recently bought baking paper instead of greaseproof and I find things stick to it.

Er. Nothing! Both boxes have exactly the same wording on them for uses. Only obvious difference I can see, is that the greaseproof will double as tracing paper, whereas the baking paper is brown and won't work!

I grease the baking tin, line it with greaseproof paper and then grease that too - never had a problem with sticking. Do you leave the cake to cool for a couple of minutes before taking the paper off?
