I never use foil, but you should take yours off for the final 20-30 minutes to get a golden colour.

I usually do my chickens for about 1.5 hours total.

I don't use stuffing, but if I did, I would cook it separately from the chicken. That's what I do at Christmas with my turkey.

Potatoes are parboiled for 10 minutes and then put in with the roast for about 45 (looks like you have missed the boat there).

bugger bollocks and shite

SqueakyPop · 07/09/2008 16:47

You can always have mash and save the roasties till next time.

lizziemun · 07/09/2008 16:49

Chicken

1 turn oven on to Gas 5

2 rub salt and oil oilve on skin

3 stick in oven until legs fall of when touched (bout 2hrs).

Potatoes

Boil for about 10 mins then roast in oven for about 1hr to 1hr and half.

Stuffing cooks for about 30mins. take foil of to brown skin.

I would think is cooked by now.

PeaMcLean · 07/09/2008 16:54

You cook stuffing? I just leave mine to stand for 10 mins.

SqueakyPop · 07/09/2008 16:58

There are different types of stuffing, Pea.

TrinityRhino · 07/09/2008 17:03

well it has to stay in now till tatties are done

humph damnit

OP posts:
PeaMcLean · 07/09/2008 17:03

what? You mean other than paxo?

Nonsense woman.

TrinityRhino · 07/09/2008 17:04

no I just buy oaxo sage and onion stufing, mix it with boiling water and then out in dish in oven for about 20 mins

what is real stuffing??

OP posts:
SqueakyPop · 07/09/2008 17:05

Something with sausagemeat.

TrinityRhino · 07/09/2008 17:05

oh you mean you do the mix bit with boiling water but then you dont put it in the oven

but then its not crispy

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 07/09/2008 17:06

I've made stuffing from mushrooms, pinenuts, garlic, some other stuff and an egg before. Wanted to be able to stuff the chicken and have vegetarian stuffing balls

PeaMcLean · 07/09/2008 17:08

Nah, I don't actually like crispy stuffing. Dries it out too much for my liking.

TrinityRhino · 07/09/2008 17:12

fairy nuff

NormaStanleyBelcher · 07/09/2008 17:26

sorry - had to post and run as DH got home with shouty thing.

It must be cooked now from when you put it in (3ish)

Have you done the tatties?

TrinityRhino · 07/09/2008 17:33

everything looks right on the cuso of being done
chicken is now looking crispy and all juices running clear, tatties are looking scrummy and crispy

yorkshires are rising and looking good and stuffing is done I reckon
juts boiling the carrots and then the broccolli will be quickly steamed in a min

I have never served up chicken to my kids without someon else being here to verify that it is ,in fact, cooked

OP posts:
NormaStanleyBelcher · 07/09/2008 17:42
