Stupid question about pears

This is probably a really stupid question, but if I want to puree some pears for dd, do I just boil them first then stick them in the blender?

Just blend them.

melon1 · 21/02/2005 21:47

Just peel and blend? Won't they be too hard? (You can probably tell I don't cook!)

Buy some ripe to eat ones! Yes, you should peel them. Cut them into small chunks. Don't put the whole pear in at once!!!!

Do my trick and buy tinned pears, no hassle at all!!! (BAD mummy! )

how old is she?

hewlettsdaughter · 21/02/2005 21:48

You can cook for 5 mins or just blend - depends what the pears are like (if they're quite hard and your dd is very young you might want to cook first).

I found cooked pear gave dd constipation

melon1 · 21/02/2005 21:51

DD is 5 1/2 months - I'm trying an assortment of foods (pears, sweed, carrots etc.)

I would chop them into pieces and boil in water for about 5 minutes then blend them

melon1 · 21/02/2005 21:52

Thanks for the advice everyone.x

I also bought tinned ones, as long as they are in fruit juice not syrup they are just as good as fresh ones!

Gem13 · 22/02/2005 21:57

If hard I used to chop them and wack them in the microwave for a few seconds with some water.
