assume natural yogurt?

Twiglett · 04/09/2008 17:57

drinks: smoothies, lassis

desserts: cakes, with fruit salads

mains: curries

dips: tzatziki

This may give you a few ideas of how to use it up.

i sometimes mix rose harissa with yoghurt as a marinade for lamb before grilling it, and then put another dish out to serve with teh lamb, lots of salad, flatbreads etc

tandoori chicken marinade - tandoori spices mixed in to yogurt slathered all over the chicken before baking/grilling it -yum.

I have a yogurt bread recipe in the recently added recipes

dead easy

I would just eat it, we get through 6 big pots a week. dd2 likes it with the tiniest drip of maple syrup, which is so small I doubt it makes any difference to the taste

charchargabor · 04/09/2008 18:49

I mix it in with pasta, chicken, peas and herbs for a quick dinner. It tastes lovely!

Pinions · 04/09/2008 18:57

Add it to chocolate cake - 3 tblsps yummy.

my mum puts yoghurt in scones and in quiche, always good, and yoghurt in curry is fab... you could make yoghurt ice cream?

We once made delicious buns made with yogurt with nectarine slice on top. Were really moist & super yummy. Not sure that I have the recipe though.

I'd recommend cappy's yoghurt bread, and also you could make a whole lot of naan bread (white flour mixed with yoghurt to form a dough, with yeast and salt) and freeze that.

You can make frozen yoghurt too (a good alternative to ice cream) just blend up lots of fruit, mix it with yogurt, and freeze.

Overmydeadbody · 04/09/2008 19:05

Alternatively, it will keep for quite a long time in the fridge if you haven't opened it.

thanks for all the ideas! Like the idea of using yoghurt instead of butter for baking plus tandoori chicken marinade sounds yummy!

Unfortunately I wasnt in when they delivered so couldnt give it back.

Rubyrioja fancy a swap?
