Capers!

I really want to eat capers more often. I really really enjoy them. But I only have two recipes with capers in, a tuna pasta dish, and a sort of vertical salad sort of thing.

What do you do with capers? I can't quite bring myself to just eat them with a spoon, so give me recipes! Thanks.

Chicken is good.

Anything. I need capers!

I've had a smoked salmon sandwich with capers and some sort of vegetable, at Apostrophe, which I adore and will have to try to copy.

I really like it - not that I've made very much from it, prefer to browse and drool. If you go to the homepage it's got a good search facility too.

Fry the thighs until cooked? Or just to brown the outside?

Um, and do I bake the tin full of food? At what sort of temperature? For how long?

I am using capers tonight in a fish pie. The capers give the fish a bitof extra bite. You can also use them in a white sauce to pour over poached white fish.

Meatballs german/prufrock style.
Mince, red pepper, onion, breadcrumbs, egg. Process together, form into balls and boil in veg stock for 10 minutes. Drain.
Make roux with veg stock, add mustard and capers then meatballs. Serve with rice.

NotQuiteCockney · 22/02/2005 10:34

Ooh, I've never made meatballs!

Or fish pie!

Both very tempting.

I did make a smoked salmon/cream cheese/capers sandwich yesterday which was absolutely lovely.
