I think Lemon puddings go well with Roast chicken, lemon curd pie maybe?

ruddynorah · 31/08/2008 17:31

keep a few extra yorkshire puds and serve with scoop of ice cream in the middle plus maple syrup drizzled over.

lilolilmanchester · 31/08/2008 17:48

one of my faves currently is rice pudding made with coconut milk. It's very light and somehow so much more special than plain old rice pud.

do Cranachan easy and gorgeous

stirlingmum · 31/08/2008 18:38

Agree with lilolilmanchester, Eve's Pudding.

I made it tonight and the dc loved it!

another vote for eton mess - just done it after roast chicken for the in-laws today. it's so easy and really indulgent - whip some double cream, chop some strawberries, crush some meringue nests from supermarket( lumpy rather than completely crushed), mix all together and serve.

HolidaysQueen · 31/08/2008 18:59

works well with blackberries or raspberries instead as well

lovelysongbird · 31/08/2008 19:36

thanks for all the ideas, im still not sure.

Mini lemon curd tart

Mini chocolate mousse

Mini rice pudding

You can make them all the night before.

Anna8888 · 31/08/2008 19:40

Or a chocolate one:

Mini dark chocolate mousse

Mini white chocolate mousse

Mini hot chocolate fondant

Mini cup of very hot chocolate

Scoop of chocolate ice cream

Hulababy · 31/08/2008 19:41

Eton mess
Chocolate mousse

hmmmm lemon curd pie...delicious...normally mostly a choccie desert person...but lurve that and the cranachan, obviously...and syllabubs are lovely, but unsuitable for the elderly and Kids (raw egg thing)

How about bread and butter pudding? My DH's grandad loved b&b pudding - I miss making it for him. There are lots of variations. I like making it with pain au chocolat, which makes it chocolatey but not overwhelmingly so. And it's easy to do.
