Bless you, just read how your ds screams in his high chair even whrn you give him a rice cake, are you sure I haven't got his twin?? My ds just the same but will amuse himself on the floor oddly, just hates his highchair and any kind of restricting for that matter. Do what works for now darlin, tis very tough with a baby like this.

It's all coming back to me now, the screaming, the refusal to eat lumpy food.

Somthing that I found useful was to puree up and freeze veggies/chicken when ds was asleep then defrost them and put them in a babyfood jar with some fruit or fruit yoghurt mixed in to sweeten it. (Never be reluctant to pull the wool over your child's eyes, sometimes it's the only advantage you've got. )

Another thing was that he never really like lumpy food so I used to have some pureed food and some solid finger food (like avocado cubes/steamed chicken pieces/steamed fish pieces/fish cakes/meatballs) and just let him pick up the solid stuff himself.
