Jam virgin here. Well like all deflowerings it hasn't gone too well

I have tried to make blackberry jam.tastes great but it has set solid, will only spread when warm then seizes to tofee status again

What can I do?

I have thought about warming it through and adding more fruit to loosen it. Checking for set then re-jarring it. Is this OK? My recepie was equal fruit to sugar.

It's that or blackberry sponge for tea

Save my jammy endeavours please

no idea, I;m afraid - sounds liek it was overcooked.

I have the opposite problem in that mine is always too runny and I end up fishing the fruit out of the resultant syrup, bottling it separately and using the runny stuff to add to yoghurt / smoothies etc.
