No. Far too acidic for their stomachs.

Twiglett · 17/02/2005 12:54

just give him water .. he doesn't need juice

if you decide to give him some juice then only 10% juice and 90% water

but really I wouldn't

jessicasmummy · 17/02/2005 12:54

HV has said yes as long as it is watered down...... very watered down!

Twiglett · 17/02/2005 12:55

or what hercules said

(sorry focused on juice not oranges .. herc is probably right on acidity levels too much)

Beansmum · 17/02/2005 12:55

he can have it if it's diluted, but it's probably best not to get him used to having juice. Water is much better for him.

Spongebob · 17/02/2005 12:58

I give very diluted juice (apple, grape, but not citrus yet) to DS 6 months. Most of time he has water. I know most HV say juice is bad, but how can it be? Its packed full of vits.

sasa15 · 17/02/2005 12:58

great! thank you...I like when you all think at the same way....there is not confusion with what to do....
Sometimes you get different opinions....and it takes a while...to follow the mother instint..

he loves water....so not problem....

Spongebob - the vitamins are good, but it is also packed full of sugar.

hercules · 17/02/2005 13:02

Too strong for their stomachs and full of sugar. Water or milk are the best by a long way. Even ds (9) still only has water and he is happy with this as apart from odd occasions it's all he's had. He prefers water to juice anyday.

Gwenick · 17/02/2005 13:06

"Only water" oh yes they say.........unless your DS's simply wouldn't touch the stuff in which case VERY diluted juice was the route we went down with both of them. DS2 (14months) favourite (at the moment) is Coconut and Pineapple juice. He also took quite a shine to the Red Grape juice several months back

sasa15 · 17/02/2005 13:08

mother in law suggested...
I think dh family is more into junks...!
also suggested chocolate pudding...etc...
I think ds can wait for that....

I'm not....
