Dried breadcrumbs?

I want to make some veggie sausages and the recipe calls for dried breadcrumbs to coat them in before frying.
Can I just make breadcrumbs from ordinary sliced loaf and let them dry out a bit? The Paxo ones seem to have quite a lot of salt in and the sausages are for my 10 month old.

yes you can. you can grill them a bit to dry them out. or put less liquid in the mix

If you have a blender, what I do is lightly toast some bread, let it cool, break it up into small pieces and then put into blender for nice breadcrumbs.
