How shall I thicken my bean burger mixture?

It is too liquid to be formed in to burgers.

Is reducing it the best plan?

Is there something I can add to make it stickier and less gloopy?

add breadcrumbs and maybe flour.

Or alternatively, is there something else I can do with a quite tasty but quite sloppy aduki bean and veg mixture?

could you bake it as a loaf thing?

BroccoliSpears · 22/08/2008 15:38

WWW - was wondering about cornflour paste. But won't that thicken the gloopiness without making it pick-up-able?

potato as a thickener? or breadcrumbs?

sausagemeat

SauerKraut · 22/08/2008 15:49

oats might be a good bet

Another vote for breadcrumbs plus a little amount of flour.

Breadcrumbs did it. Still a bit sloppy really, but very tasty.

Was going to suggest rice but see you've already managed!

I was going to suggest breadcrumbs too. You could also try adding grated cheese.
