Baking an under done cake

Just baked a cake. It looked done but now its cooled, I think it could've done with another few minutes.
Is it too late to do anything with it?

(Its just passable, being a very moist apple cake)

cut the centre bit away like a core and fill it with more apples pureed with cinnamon or cream cheese softened with lemon juice and brown sugar. Distractive techiniques

mmm that sounds good but I was thinking along the lines of putting it back in the oven.
Can that be done or will it turn into an unedible crusty old boot?

I mean inedible of course
