Help! I've bought a beef joint, not big, only 1.5 lb, and I don't know what temp/how long to cook it at. Am I supposed to seal it first?

Also, it has a net thing round it, do I take it off or leave it on for cooking.

I've had a look online but can only find recipes for large and on the bone joints, which this is neither

25 mins per lb plus 25 so just over an hour at 180-200. Pop it in a roasting tin, leae thenet on it until it's cooked

Do you like it rare, medium or well done?

put it in a tray with some water, cover in tin foil and cook for about an hour at 180 degs.

Ten minutes before it's ready, whip off the tin foil.

Leave the net thingy on until you've taken it out of the tray. Use the liquid in the tray to make your gravy.

yumm!
