Has anyone out there got any tips, i really need to lose weight for an upcoming holiday so i can go in the swimming pool with, dh, dd1 and dd2, otherwise one dd will not be able to go in. The thing is i have a couple of battles going on, one with british gas the other Butlins and as a result very very stressed out and want to pig out, i am a member of a gym and try to go regularly but find it hard to cut down on food especially with running round after two kids during the day and also when dh is on nights and i get bored. Please help!

I put on a grand (wait for it) 5 stone between the time I lost a baby and eventually had my twins. After the boys were born I didn't over eat I just ate badly. So I joined Scottish Slimmers, nearly died at the first weigh in when I found out how bad it had gotten. That was last October. Things have been progressing slowly, sometimes not at all, but soon I'll be past my 3 stone marker and will be well on my way to fitting into all those clothes I have stored under the bed.
I didn't want my boys to have a fat mum and all the extra weight makes running after them that bit harder!
DH didn't mind about the extra weight but is enjoying my regained confidence and so are the boys!
As I always say to them, slow and steady wins the race!

I was just wondering how you got on, Chiccadum? Did you manage to lose enough weight that you felt good in swimming pool? Did you have a great holiday? I was reading your thread today and felt really inspired by it. You seemed to be doing so well!

I am on day 4 of a mixture of all clubs, diets have tried over the years (I know what I should and shouldn't eat, just doing it is my problem!) and was looking for some others who were dieting. Only Slimming World going strong it seems!

Anyway would love to know how anyone on this thread is doing 5 months later. I have worked out that if I'm good until February I should be able to lose the majority of my 4 extra stone! Oh no, I can't believe I admitted to that!!!!! AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Rebi, you are more than welcome to come and join us on the slimming world thread. The support from everyone on the thread is really helping me stick with it. And if one of us has a bad days/week someone is there to re motivate you and listen.

since I started which was about April - I have lost 27 1/2 lbs so far - had a couple of hiccups but not worried about this - just glad it is slowly coming off....have read that healthy weight loss is between 1/2 - 2lbs a week - so I average out at about that.

How are you going Chiccadum?!?!

Cyndii · 13/08/2003 16:29

I put on 3 1/2 stone during my first pregancy, had a battle to lose it but I did it, lost 3 stone with WW but now it's creaping back, would love to have the orginal will power that I had!! Any suggestions??????

fio2 · 13/08/2003 18:43

Cyndii Im doing ww and I find it motivating as I cannot lose weight on my own Gosh eidsvold I didnt know you had lost that much weight, WELL DONE

eidsvold · 13/08/2003 20:20

I have a lot to lose and have been doing it for a while... just keep slogging on - bit by bit....

some of it was weight put on when dd was in hospital and there was little to do but eat horrid hospital food and sit by her bed for hours and eat!! read trashy magazines... and stress out.

Cyndii · 14/08/2003 13:50

fio2, going to ww class tonight, just have to wear light clothes!! Wasn't too bad this week but the scales doesn't lie! Hard slog but no easy answers only eat cute & excercise! Love to hear how Chiccadum is doing ~ great to read the progress!

eidsvold · 14/08/2003 18:39

well fio - good week last week food wise - did not show on the scales - this week caught up with me -but hey - I don't mind not everytime your only child turns 1!! Back into it this week - need to get training to do Flora Light Challenge - need to get out walking - hopefully that will tell on the scales.

fio2 · 18/08/2003 08:31

I am dreading my weigh in tommorrow as me and dh went away for the weekend and I most certainly pigged out and I just couldnt stop drinking

eidsvold · 18/08/2003 18:33

oh well fio - I am always pragmatic about these things - I look at it as I had a good time - enjoyed myself - the next day/week is a new day/week and time to get on track again.....I have had a few hiccups in my weeks at it....
