How do I make salmon fishfingers?

I have some salmon that I want to use for dd (9 months)

I was thinking fishfingers, how do I make them?
And then do I shallow fry them or oven cook?

why not just cook it in foil in the oven or steam it?

But, if you're dead set on fish fingers, cut the salmon into thick strips, coat with flour, then beaten egg, then breadcrumbs, and oven cook them, turning halfway through. 20 minutes at 180-200 C should do it.

Alternatively shallow fry them, but that is much more hassle.

But I do think just cooking it as is would be nicer and better for DD, and then you're not going down the route of getting her used to food always being coated in some kind of batter (nuggets, fish fingers etc.).

Let her get used to what salmon and fish really look like.

or cook it exactly like you would cook salmon for yourself and DP, that way she gets used to normal adult food.

I could steam it.

And then give it to her with some potato?

yy

seam it, and if she likes potaot give it to her with some boiled potatoes, or mash, and stream some veg while you're at it to serve with it!

DS doesn't like potatoes, so I'd do it with rice or pasta or couscous as a carb.

Carrots and peas maybe?

Fish pie is also always a hit? Probably too much faf if you're just cooking it for her but next time you make one leave out the salt and she can have it too.

Thanks OMDB, I'm going to steam it and do mash, carrots and peas to go with it.

Good tip about the fish pie as well

sounds good hughjarse!

Top tip for fish pie: make the topping with a mix or sweet potato and potato and a grating of nutmeg, it gives it a lovely slightly sweet taste that children love.
