Can you cook without onions? I don't think I can.

Apart from cakes and biscuits, obviously.

I ran out of onions late last week and have not got to the shop to get any more yet. It's killing me trying to think of supper every day without onions. Last night we had egg and lentil curry, but I chopped up some apples and pretended they were onions.

I suppose you could but I wouldn't care to do so. I love onions, can't get enough of them and they and garlic go in just about anything I make, with the exception of puddings of course.

my dh thinks he doesnt like with anything with onions in. when i know he actually does he just like it when he can see the onions. why does he think the food processor runs nearly every time i cook

almost everything i cook has onion and or garlic both of which

I love onions but have learnt to reduce them in cooking as they really do not do good things when put into DH

Frozen onion is great.

with tomato or cheese dishes - a dash of worcs sauce is heavenly and missing onions not noticable really.

SSSBTS cook up a batch and blitz then freeze in icecubes and add as required

I read somewhere that Prince Charles doesn't like onions either and the chefs that work for him cannot put onion in anything!!

I could cook without onions, but what would be the point.

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2008 16:17

I hardly ever use them

fillet steak and salad NO ONIONS
chicken wrapped in bacon NO ONIONS
salmon fillet NO ONIONS

rebelmum1 · 15/08/2008 16:33

you just don't put them in.. i think pulses need onions though that's the downside, they help it digest better.

Oninons are essentional part of indian cooking. but there are some foods like roast chicken which dont need onions.
