Blue Parrot Cafe range of children's food

Anyone else tried Sainsbury's new Blue Parrot Cafe range of children's food? It's billed as containing fewer additives and excess fats etc as well as being very appealing to children.

My children wolfed down the chicken nuggets, but as for Blue Parrot Cafe's claim to be more healthy, I'm not an additive expert so I can't comment. Do you think this is mostly a marketing ploy?

Why do my dds love the spag bol made by M&S, but turn their noses up at mine?! I'm not that bad at cooking.

Thought this might be as good a place as any to ask if anyone else has seen the Parents' Jury "awards" to food manufacturers who market awful food to children. The link to the story on the BBC website is below but it was nice to see Sunny Delight and McDonalds get a good public dressing-down, not to mention that apology for proper cheese, Dairylea.

Yes, I read about this in The Evening Standard yesterday. I hope awards like these gee up manufacturers to produce edibles that are actually good for chlidren as well as a fun addition to the school lunchbox. Surely not an impossible task?

Just read the BBC link further to what I've already read about the awards. Very funny that Sunny Delight is made by Proctor & Gamble, seeing as they resemble a range of washing-up liquids...
No, don't get me started on Sunny Delight again, I've already had a rant on another thread!

I must admit to buying some Blue Parrot stuff today for the first time. Dd is 11 months and I've cooked most of her food up to now, with the occasional use of organic jars for holidays, etc. It does get a bit tedious, tho. I want her to eat healthily but eat a whole range of stuff, including (oven) chips and "convenience" food, as long as it's not an everyday occurance. And if I'm going to do this, then I guess anyone who pertains to be producing food with fewer additives, less sugar/salt, etc. then I should give them a go. The marketing machine is so huge and ruthless, tho, you can never be sure you're not being taken for a ride.
