do i need to soak lentils to make dhal?

have never cooked with lentils before so wasn't sure whether to soak them beforehand or not. tia

just rinse, pick through..i would

some beans / split peas do need to be soaked it will say on the packet normally

Dilly yeah they're red ones. Thank-you for clearing that up for me, fingers crossed the rest of my adventures in the kitchen are as easy as it was to find that out!
