Am baking dd2's birthday cake today, but don't need it til Sunday
(out all day tomorrow)

She wants vic sponge with jam and cream in middle. Or buttercream.

Then buttercream on top with chocolate buttons.

Will this keep til Sunday?

Or do I need to just make cake and get up early on Sunday to put cream etc on?

TIA.

It will keep in an air tight container with butter cream, but if I were using cream I would do it on sunday, and keep in the fridege untill the last minute.

I would make it on the saturday so it's fresher

Sounds lovely.

Make cake wrap in foil or in a airtight container then fill/decorate on Sunday

Have to make it today as we are away all day tomorrow.

If I use cream and put it in the fridge, will the actual cake go hard?

Am thinking buttercream is easier!!

Do with buttercream but do not put in the fridge - just somewhere cool or the actual sponge tends to go hard.

And the buttercream will be okay til Sunday, yes?

And choc buttons?

It will be real restraint not to eat it you know, a cake never lasts that long here!!
