how long to boil dry apricots?

just boiled 10 min. today seems like they were going harder....
scare of chock 6 months old ....

I've got a recipe that says simmer for 2-3 mins, but I think I used to give them about 10 mins to be sure they were soft. The water and apricots then got blended with a banana and custard.

soak them in cold water for a couple of hours before boiling. this rehydrates them
