i add them to mince to bulk it out. have done puy lentils with sausages as a kind of gravy thing (you cook onions, garlic, thyme. add lentils. stir. add can consomme soup (but stock would work) and bring to boil, simmer until cooked. serve with sausages and a green veg. think it was a sainsbury take one make one
also use lentils under roasted fish for posh tea

lentils, herbs and yoghurt mixed together v nice with fish
nigel slater does a nice lentil and feta salad (basically lentils, dressed with oil and vinegar salad dressing and a few tablespoons of fresh herbs chopped in, cooked feta on top)
sausages and lentils

I put the brown ones (no need to soak overnight) in with braising steak in the slow cooker. Makes the braising steak go a lot further.
Add some onion and carrot and a veg stock cube, switch on and go out for the day.

You need quite a bit of water if putting lentils in slow cooker though to make sure it doesn't dry up when they absorb the liquid.

woodstock that lentil and feta salad sounds fab - but not enough details!!! Questions: what kind of lentils (brown, orange) do you just boil them up and then bung dressing and feta on?
