What do you keep (or not) in the fridge?

Do you keep veggies in there? Tomatoes? Eggs? Ketchup? (My mum has instilled in me some kind of necessary imperative to always keep ketchup in the fridge - or I'm not allowed to buy it ). What about jam?

Just curious

all of those. ketchup goes nasty and seperates if you leave it own. Jam grows mould. All my veg/salad type stuff goes in there apart from potatoes. Doesn't everybody?

SoupKitchen · 17/07/2008 12:38

I keep all open jars in the fridge
all my veg in the fridge and Bread in the fridge.

MrsBadger · 17/07/2008 12:41

green veg, tomatoes, jam, chutney - yes

spuds / root veg / onions mostly in baskets in the conservatory but in fridge in summer as conservatory gets v hot

ketchup, bread, marmite, chilli sauce etc - no

eggs - certainly not

ChopsTheDuck · 17/07/2008 12:42

why not eggs?

Bumperlicious · 17/07/2008 12:42

I was just wondering if it is good for veg to be kept in the fridge. Seems a bit unnatural. But all mine except eggs go in the fridge. Oh and not potatoes or bread either.

I dont keep potatoes, onions, bananas, pears, oranges, apples in the fridge. Salad veg, grapes, strawberries, peppers, tomamtoes all go in the salad drawers - eggs also in fridge. Ketchup, peanut butter, jam, open jars get put in fridge. I dont keep bread in the fridge as it goes stale quicker.

MyDingaling · 17/07/2008 12:46

Where should eggs be kept?
