2 bags of clementines - horrible, dry fruit, no sweetness whatsoever

a pack of 4 "perfectly ripe" peaches - no flavour, not particularly juicy

[fed up]

(waitrose, btw)

i have found marks to be better, but sooo £££

we stopped buying from supermarket recently and now use local market, loads better quality, cheaper and i can buy a weeks worth of fruit for 3 of us n its still edible by the time im deciding what to get for the next week

i remember once being in a queue at the checkout at marks

was behind a (italian? spanish?) lady who was buying shedloads of nice fruit - cherries, nectarines etc

in italy/spain would have cost a few quid

it came to something like £35

she could not believe that was the correct amoutn

i could not help but intervene to explain fruit prices in the uk

must admit M&S are hard to beat for their fruit...but last time I bought grapes from there they were £7..
And I ate half of them on the way home!!!
