where should i keep a cake from the bakery over-night?

I put it in the fridge right!?!....

doesnt cake go stale in the fridge? What about an airtight tub instead

I think it depends on the kind of cake.
Patisserie with fresh cream in fridge.
Ginger or fruit cake in tin.
